Remember the mid-90s?

I've been on a HUGE 90s kick lately, music, movies, etc.

I was listening to a HUGE 90s spotify playlist (I'm almost done with Part 1 and it only took me about two weeks!) and I heard the song Girls and Boys by Blur. This reminded me that Blur is/was a band, and they had some catchy tunes. So I did my usual internet research, listened to their entire catalogue, remembered that Damon Albarn is the main dude in Gorillaz. This led me to decide on today's...

Dreamboat of the Day

If you hadn't guessed it by now, today's Dreamboat is Damon Albarn, lead singer, keyboardist and guitarist for Blur. Before you look at the following pictures, you must remember three things.
1. The Dreamboat I'm referring to is Damon Albarn from like, 1996ish. Not that he's not good looking now, but his most dreamiest time was in the 90s for sure.
2. You MUST disregard the "interesting" fashion choices...remember, it was the 90s. (I'm realizing that none of these pictures really encapsulate the 90s look he so lovingly rocks but rest assured, he was a big fan of track suit jacket, beaded choker with collared shirt, etc.)
3. His teeth are TERRIBLE! Like seriously, if he were to give me a toothy smile, I would take back the title of DotD.

So, without further ado, Damon Albarn from the 90s!

OR
The Day I Realized I Forgot How Much I LOVE the Live From Albertane album

I love Hanson. My relationship with Hanson has been on and off since 1997 (5th grade). Their most recent album is fantastic and reignited my love for them.

Today at work, I started my day by entering the office and immediately having multiple people come at me with chaos and drama. That is NOT something I need first thing in the morning.
I quickly set about trying to find some music that would not only make me less murderous, but actually elevate my mood to something resembling happiness and/or carefree whimsy.

I threw on some Hanson (This Time Around) and quickly realized that wouldn't be enough. I set about creating the Ultimate Hanson Playlist, not thinking much of it.

I've now been listening to this mix for the last two hours and it is doing WONDERS to combat my HORRIBLE state. Now I'm only mildly annoyed. What was my point?...
...
OH! Yeah, my point was that I totally forgot how wonderful Live From Albertane is.
All the voices had finally dropped. Taylor was sounding FINE! (and by "fine" I mean HORRIBLY ATTRACTIVE) They sang all my favorites (well, most of them anyway)

Now I've got Hanson-fever and am thinking about going home after work to watch all the DVDs of theirs' that I have (totally kicking myself for not having a VCR to watch all the VHS tapes I have)

(here's a little taste of the playlist)
(and no, Ariel did not create this list, I just used her Spotify account...)

DoTD

So, everyone knows I've hated Don Henley since the beginning of time.

Last night, my father and I were channel surfing and came upon The History of the Eagles on Showtime. Naturally I thought this was a nature documentary about the majestic Eagle and if you thought so as well you'd be just as wrong as I was.

Obviously it was a documentary about the band The Eagles. We came in right as they were reaching their first fame and I immediately knew I would be compelled to finish the whole thing (though I was unaware we were only on Part One...)

So I came to the realization that I don't hate the Eagles as much as I thought and I also realized that Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey were total dreamboats.

I INTRODUCE TO YOU, THE LATEST ADDITION TO KNICKNACKERY:

Dreamboat of the Day

* * *

Today's DotD is a tie between Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh. Clearly I don't mean the Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey of today. Instead, I'm referring to Glenn and Joe as they were in the mid-late seventies.

enjoy!
